About the club
Welcome
The Edinburgh Academical Golf Club offers a warm welcome to former pupils of all golfing abilities, including beginners. We have regular internal competitions as well as entering teams for a number of external events.
The club also arranges social gatherings and dinners for members.
The purpose of this site is both the recruitment of new members and the improvement of communications amongst existing members. There is an RSS feed on this site to which members are invited to subscribe, and which will be used to advise members of updates.
Joining the club
To join the club, or to express an interest in any of our annual outings or competitions, please contact David Marshall, the membership and fixtures secretary. ( )
About the school
The Edinburgh Academy was founded in 1824 as a boys day school. A boarding facility and a preparatory department were added in the late nineteenth century. The first girl was admitted in 1966. The school became fully co-educational and ceased boarding in 2008. It will however remain a small school, with small classes, and will continue to offer a curriculum including both English and Scottish examination qualifications, as well as its traditionally excellent sports, including golf, and enormous variety of extra-curricular activities.
